Is it possible to live a normal life with non-allergic rhinitis?

Just been back to the ENT who did my surgery...he reckons non-allergic
rhinitis. I am due to take a blood allergy test, skin prick showd up
clear last year, but if no allergies then it's non allergic.

Does this mean I will always feel as I do now? How much can excercise,
diet, irrigation etc improve the symptoms?

Is there any hope that non allergic rhinitis could go away or somehow
my nose could return to functioning correctly?

Or is it 23 years old and end of normality forever.....

Based on my own experience and the multitude of remedies I
have tried... I would guess you are doomed as I... until
a major breakthrough happens...  and I don't expect anything
for at least 10 years.

I would check your symptoms at Mayo Clinic .com.
On their site is a lot of help and some home remedies that you can do,
like vitamins or a nasal rinse.

That is what I do if I cannot get help from anyone else as to my
symptoms.

Chronic sinusitis is often misdiagnosed as non-allergic rhinitis.

I suggest you get a second opinion from another ENT.

I had two ENTs and a bunch of primary-care physicians swear that I
didn't have chronic sinusitis--but it turned out that I did.

The reason I believe him is my nose is so swollen always, but I never
have infected looking mucus....so I assume it's something making the
nose swell. He looked up my nose with a camera and said the sinuses are
drained fine and no infection was found at any stage...

Your idea is worth checking tho, thanks Steven, just this is all so
hard on the wallet by now....so not sure if I can get a second opinion
for a short while...
