I am getting terrible PND.  Is the nasal spray just as good as irrigation?
These pots and things people talk about don't seem to be available in
Australia, at least not in the pharmacies.  I'm hoping the nasal spray is
just as good.

Thanks

Not in my experience.  I assume you're referring to saline sprays?

You can be talking about several types of nasal spray.  If you are
talking about just a saline spray, they will help irrigate your nose
and eventually stop your PND.  Other sprays are cortisone sprays that
help build your resistance to the allergens so that you will not react
so severly.  Then you have sprays like Afrin that help constrict your
nasa. blood vessels.  This spray will actually increase the nasal flow
for a short time because it forces the mucus out of your nasal cavity.
You will later have less flow because the chemicals have drained your
sinuses.

Saline nasal spray isn't good enough because the stream is too weak.
You can order a lot of irrigation apparatus over the Internet; google
for it.

Don't use decongestant nasal sprays.  They are dreadfully addictive.

Not as good but a hell of a lot better than nothing.

Thanks for all the responses.  I am talking about a saline spray.  I also
noticed there is a wash and an irrigation spray available as well.  Which do
you think would be best?  Here is the site.

Thankyou all for your great help

PS.  I am also using a cortisone spray.

Make sure you take a week off of the cortisone spray every month so that
your own adrenal function doesn't get suppressed.

I'd irrigate, or wash.  Spraying is just for moisture, it's not a good
cleanser.

I'm also wondering about the steam sprays, will they help for PND?  Has
anybody had success.  If I just do it with a cup of steaming water, how long
should I do it for?  How often?

I really appreciate the help you've given me.  Thanks

there is a way to use your hands to form a cup--use water as close to your
own temperature hold your head up straight and sniff the water into your
nose--takes some time to know how to do it--probably a pinch of pure salt
should be added--principle is that you do not want hypotonic solution ( read
about hypotonic) to be frequently used as it will actually swell your nasal
tisssue
