I tried irrigation maybe 15 years ago. I now am having sinus problems (not
that I didn't in the interim but I didn't irrigate).
I'd like to try it now, but I don't even know what equipment to get (don't
want to pay an exhorbitant amount either).
Sooooooo... any suggestions on what Ishould buy specifically (I seem to
recall using a water pic or something like that)

You can start with a neti pot (about $12-$18 for a non plastic one) and
making your own saline mixture. I mix two cups of kosher salt with a
tsp to a TBS of baking soda and of xylitol. Use 1 tsp. of this per 2
cups distilled or boiled and cooled tap water.
You can also buy an attachment that goes on a waterpik if you already
have the device.

I use the water pik along with the Dr. Grossan tip (that I bought 6
years ago -- they last forever) ...I pour about a tablespoon (give or
take) of pickling salt into my pik container, then fill it 3/4 full with
warm tapwater. ...If the salt mixture isn't correct, I either add more
salt, or more water, but I'm usually pretty good at judging the amount
after using it so many times. ...I normally irrigate once a day (or
sometimes, every other day), but if I sense problems, I step it up to 3
times per day. ...Jon

For years I had sinus infections every three or so months. Continually on antibiotics to
clear them up. I recently changed to irrigation like this.
Twice a day, morning and evening.
Use warm tap water, preferable distilled water but in my case too much trouble and the tap
water is working fine just now. If it begins to fail, I will go to distilled water.
Use Kosher salt only. Morton makes it and for sale at most large grocery stores.
Pinch of baking soda.
Small splash of hydrogen peroxide.
Mix in small container, pour small amount in palm of hand and sniff up one nostril while
leaning over the sink with head down as much as possible. Sniff up several times after
using the mixture. Then blow gently but firmly out that nostril.
Then do other nostril.
