Irrigating with Xylitol prep questions

Hi folks,

I went to the Vitamin Shoppe this evening to buy Xlear (Clear) and was
pleasantly surprised that they had several sizes of Xylitol, so I
bought that instead.

When I irrigate, should I use the same, less, or more in the Water Pik
to irrigate?  When I was irrigating with saline solution I made, I
would put in about 1 1/2 teaspoons full for every 16 ounces of
filtered water.

Also, are there possible irritation problems and are they handled by
using a small amount of baking soda?

Thanks,

Rick

I just add the xylitol, about a TBS or two to two cups of my
saline/baking soda mixture.

Don't thank me, that made no sense!

Here's what I do: I take a pint plastic container, fill it almost to the
top with kosher salt, add a bit of baking soda (a tsp. or a bit more?  I
don't measure) and the TBS of xylitol to that, and shake it.  I use 8-9
tsps. of this to a gallon of distilled (you could use boiled) water.
