> Any experiences with cipro for a nasty sinus infection??
Yep. It worked well for me, for quite a while. Cipro is a member of
the quinolone class of antibiotics. Newer quinolone antibiotics like
Levaquin and Avelox are sometimes preferred for sinusitis now, because
they offer even better coverage.
The key is to make sure the infection is completely wiped out--or else
the resistant bugs can flare up again. Sinus infections are stubborn.
My doctors always recommended a minimum of 3 weeks worth of antibiotic
to be sure all the bugs were dead. The usual 10 day course of
antibiotic that is prescribed for other types of infections, is often
insufficient for sinus infections.
