Hello,

I'll give a brief overview of what is going on, if anyone can offer any
suggestions, it is greatly appreciated.  (I think that my post nasal drip /
allergy symptoms in my throat are coming from my sinuses)

I have a history of multiple environmental allergies and GERD.  I have tried
a number of allergy medication pills, including; clartin-d, allegera-d,
singular, zytrec, benedryl, Chlor-Trimeton, atarax, dimeatap, clarinex.  I
have tried several of the nasal sprays, including; flonase, rhinocort,
atrovent, astalin.  I also have GERD / Heartburn symptoms that mix in with
the post nasal drip to make things truly miserable.

I think I have gotten the GERD stuff more under control.  I am taking 40mg
of nexium, twice a day, and I just started taking 150mg of zantac twice to
three times a day. Right now, In addition to the GERD medication, I take a
clartin D as needed, and chlor-trimeton (8mg 3-5X a day).

Now on to the problem, I have this post nasal drip feeling in the back of my
throat.  It now however does not feel like I have the GERD / stomach acid
stuff mixed in.  It feels like there is mainly mucus back there, as in being
from post nasal drip.

So pretty much no matter how much chlor-trimaton I take, I still have the
post nasal drip feeling.  The thing that is so weird, is that My nose and
sinuses feel very clear, and feel pretty dry.  I just don't know what to do
about this crud in the back of my throat that I believe is draining from my
sinuses / post nasal drip.

I am wondering if anyone has suggestion about other medication I could try
that would help get rid of this horrible feeling.  I am considering trying
atrovent and or flonase again, but I wonder if that is the right thing to do
since my nose feel pretty clear.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.  Thank you in advance.

Hi Dolan, I too suffer from PND, Allergy, Sinusitis, GERD. LIke you I
have been all over for a solution. Unfortuantly I don't have the magic
answer for you. My symptoms are similar but my mucus problem seems to
hang up in my sinuses and not my throat like yours. Upon waking in the
morning I have a ton of drainiage stuck in my throat that I clear in
the shower. Then I battle the mucus in my upper sinuses all day long.
The only things that really seem to benefit me are Sinus rinses,
Atrovent and Astelin. I did see some real good improvements when first
starting Aciphex for my GERD but that only lasted about 2 weeks and
then I was back to suffering. Its a very strange and frustrating
disease we suffer from.

Hi Dolan, I am having the same problem in the last couple of weeks that
you have.
In the morning I have that crud?? hanging back of my throat and try to
clear it out by starting to cough. Clear flem comes out then I feel
okay.
I use saline rinse at night and morning,  somebody here advised to lay
down on your bed to let your head hang over the side of it.
I could feel the saline liquid moving up higher into my sinus's.

I have Gerds, allergies also.

HI,

I am still working on the problem.  I saw my allgerist, and he didn';t think
that it was a lot to do with allgeries, he thinks they are pretty well
controaled, and he thinks that most of my problem is comming from something
more related to acid reflux / heartburn.  I see the ENT in about 2 week.  I
hope that they are able to help.  I also have a appointment with my GI
doctor, but he is booked out about 2 months.

The crud sucks so bad, and it is even worse when I get the nausea with it.

thanks for your comments and support.

Jamie
