I am now 5 weeks post surgery and have developed a new problem!...I have now
developed a sickly sweet smelling sensation in my nose.Anybody heard or
experienced  this before and could it be just my diseased sinuses. When I had
my FSS 5 weeks ago the surgeon said there was "diseased tissue in
there".SORRY TO BOTHER YOU....by diseased does he mean rotting or bacterial
and/or viral infection?

Kindest personal regards,
Ray The Travellin' Man.....Ray Armstrong your eyes and ears on the Tweed!!

I had a smell like that after my surgery for quite a while.  It meant
that there was still oozing fresh blood and sloughed off tissue (that's
how fresh blood smells) but that it wasn't infected anymore.

It's the same smell I would smell in a slaughterhouse when the animals
are freshly killed with fresh blood and fresh meat.

I could have shown more European taste and sensitivity and just said
"It's the same smell I would smell in an abattoir."
