Believe me I sympathize with you. The B_______s that make Xalatin eye drops
charge that for 2.5 cc a bottle. Like it would hurt them to put in 3 cc or
even 5 cc!
Many persons here report one cortisone spray working better than another.
But one study claimed that they all work equally as well. Check to see which
one costs least. Your pharmacist can get your Rx changed.
Flonase: fluticasone, has just gone generic. I don't know the pricing
of it. Your pharmacist should be able to price it for you.
My sister uses rhinocort AQ and obtains it via Canada where they sell a
stronger version of it: 64 mcg/spray vs. the 32 mcg/spray that's
marketed in the US. She used an internet site and an MD's
prescription--I'm not sure what the site was? Canadameds.com? She found
it saved her a considerable amount of money.
It's worth asking a pharmacist which is the least expensive nasal
steroid: also when I've had to buy medicine not covered by insurance, I
called various pharmacies and the price differences were huge. Target
was the least expensive, and I've heard that Costco--you need to be a
member--is the least expensive pharmacy.
If you meet certain guidelines, you can get medicines from the
manufacturers at reduced prices: a central site to check out is
http://www.needymeds.com/
Good luck.

I just filled that prescription three days ago.
Here in the Boston area, Walgreens charged me $68.00 for one bottle of
the generic fluticasone.
The oldest steroid nasal spray I know of is Vancenase (beclomethasone),
which went generic long ago. You can get a bottle of that for maybe
$30.00 if you shop around.
But you're right, ordering from Canadian pharmacies is cheaper still.

Thanks for that very helpful link! This newsgroup is a godsend for me.
There is assistance available from the manufacturer of Nasacort, which I
may qualify for.
Strange thing, I see Murray Grossan's reply quoted in your's and
travmann's message but I don't see his original post in my newsgroup
reader. Hmmm, oh well.

A couple of months ago, I went to get my prescription for Flonase
refilled. I asked the pharacist if generic fluticasone was available
yet; it was. However, it was the same price that I paid for the Flonase
brand ($25 copay with my insurance). After seeing the price that some
of you pay, I now feel fortunate!
In Australia it costs A$39 in The Phillipines A$20.....so it looks like they
are charging on the capacity of a country/individual TO PAY!!
