Have got a CT scan confirming sinus infection in the front left ethmoid
sinus, having found a reliable ENT recommended by other sinus
sufferers, he's suggesting surgery to do 3 things.
As far as I recall, it's 1 to drain my infected sinus, 2 to widen the
nasal passage, and 3 to correct a slightly deviated septum (yes I have
read here how this is always suggested)
While I consider this I'm wondering is it worth me giving the Grossan
irrigation system a try? Could this potentially clear up my problems
without any need for surgery, keeping in mind I've had the infection
for a year and tried many combinations of antibiotics, betnesol,
flixonase, salt water spray etc.
I know how big people are on hydropulse here so am willing to give it a
shot before going under the knife and experiencing the ensuing pain
etc, tho don't want to waste my time and delay surgery if surgery is
actually going to improve me.

If there's no additional danger in waiting for surgery, why not try it?
Odds are you're still going to need to irrigate and that surgery won't
cure you entirely, so it's not a wasted investment.

It depends on why your infected sinus is blocked; what is preventing
your infected sinus from draining. If it's just blocked up by a lot of
old pus, then irrigation may help a lot. If the sinus duct (ostium) is
blocked by a physical obstruction like a cyst, polyp or mucocele, then
that growth must be removed surgically. Your ENT can clarify just what
he thinks is wrong in your sinus.
