Hi all,

I have constantly suffered with sinus problems.  Made worse after
having my nose broken.

I have managed to control my symptoms with irrigation.  I usually use
preservative free saline or make my own using pint of water to table
spoon of salt.

However, I have a large quantity of saline with 0.00001% polyhexanide
anyone any idea if this is safe ?

thanks in advance

Simon

Interesting, I would have thought it was safer as it is used to clean
my contact lenses...

I have no idea whether irrigating with dilute polyhexanide would be safe or
not. For a while I'd been wondering if irrigating using diluted
chlorhexadine would help serious sinus infections. While perusing PubMed I
saw this abstract and happened to notice that apparently polyhexanide is a
relative of chlorhexidine. I found no definitive info as to whether
irrigating with chlorhexadine was safe either.   always wondering, AW
