I'm a on a war-path on my pnd problem...My ENT thinks I have to
disparate problems, LPR and imflammation in my nasal area.  I'm getting
a ph probe test next week to figure out the LPR.  I'm still trying to
figure out the pnd problem.  I've been tested for allergies and all
that's come out of the testing is that I have a mild cat allergy.  I do
not have any contacts with cats though.  It's pollen season and I have
been getting green mucous when I irrigate and of course, lots of pnd.
Would I still be sensitive during this season if the testing does not
indicate I have pollen allergies?

The only thing I can figure is that my neighbor smokes like a chimney.
So much so that cigarette smell permeates the entire apartment and
unfortunately for me, I live right next door to him.  I place a towel
underneath my door, but it can only do so much.  Is this type of second
hand smoke enough to trigger imflammation and such a severe reaction
from my sinuses?

Hmm normally I am not sure of you can be alletgic to something if you have not
been exposed to it.   There may either be unknown cats somewhere near you, or
perhaos  there were at any earlier time.   Or maybe it is a cross-allergy to
something else that has similar a protein.

Yes once you are highly irritated by anything, you tend to be highly irritated
by everything in the air.

Allergies are only part of the story.  There is also non-allertgic rhinitis.

Unfortunately, yes in suspectible individuals (including me).   In fact, I will
bet it is the case.....

Hmm...this must be the dreaded season or something...I welcome more
comments/advice on the second hand smoke issue.

The reason I'm asking is because since early March my discharge has
been yellow/green with occassional blood.  The discharge from
irrigating hasn't increased just the coloring has.  In addition, I've
been getting headaches/fogginess AFTER I irrigate and use Rhinocort.
Should I stop irrigating for awhile?  On the other hand I don't want to
leave the green junk up there either.  Background: I got a CT scan last
fall and other than a couple of cysts and maybe slightly enlarged
turbinates, my sinuses looked a-ok to the ENT.  She doesn't think I
have sinusitis though I have had symptoms sparodically over the last
decade.
