I don't have it that bad. I feel some thickening of mucous in the
back of my throat. I've noticed in the past couple of weeks (even
before starting the Ampho B irrigation) that I would get a sensation
of mucous (I guess) going to the back of my throat. I've never had
that sensation before, so I'm wondering if that's post-nasal drip.
After irrigating with Ampho B this morning, I felt a little better,
but not well enough to go to work. So I'm taking it easy today. I
really don't want to take antibiotics at this point, because that's
not seeming to work for the long term anymore (or hardly even for the
short term).
I do need to start feeling better. For a guy of 51, I work out harder
at the gym doing the elliptical trainer and stationary bike as those
15-20 years younger. When I'm well, I go 4-5 days a week. I
sometimes wonder if doing that is actually overdoing it, but I also
know if I didn't exercise at all, I'd be in worse shape overall.

Actually the Mayo theory is that the eosinophiles which are supposed to kill
the fungus, produce Major Basic Protein. But in the sick sinus patient, they
produce too much Major Basic Protein - MBP. It is the MBP that makes the
patient sick by irritating and inflaming the sinuse.nose. Since the fungus
and the MBP are both in the mucus, irrigation helps remove both of them. But
when you irrigate excessively you also might remove some of the good stuff -
good white cells, lysozyme, etc.
This is why for some persons irrigation with or without anti fungals can
help.
Also why some persons benefit from allergic desensitization to the fungus.
For more up to date on this see Dr Tichenor's site, www.sinuses.com
P.S. PLEASE. Just becase someone disagrees with the writer is NOT a personal
attack. NEVER answer personal attacks, NEVER. Then they will go away. One of
the boards went down in flames because just one person was attacking
writers. He went away when he was ignored. But it is OK to attack spammers.

Well put!
Actually, I myself do not want to attack even spammers.
I just want to let them know what people expect - many are not really aware of
what expectations are and are actually glad to know.
If they still persist I will complain to their ISP's quickly enough, as
virtually all ISP's have rules against spamming newsgroups and will enforce
them. But I do not want to go to those lengths for most people, who actually
can usefully contribute to the newsgroup and take part once they learn more
about what is and is not considered appropriate.....
