I am getting off OtC sprays. Im down to 1 spray (4 hour 0.5%) In one
nostral 1 time a day. Can a person get hooked on phenylephrine hci 10mg
tablets (1 at 2 times a day? My Blood pressure goes up a little when I
take this also. But my concern is, Can I get hooked on these? Is it like
OTC nasal sprays? Thank you Dan

Yes you will be - see http://ww2.whas11.com/Global/story.asp?S=2775403
Steroid sprays are safe though.

Ok, Thank you for this info. It helped me a lot. I stopped take the
pills. My Dr. asked what I perfered as samples. Flonase Rhincort and 2
others. Is there one that is a little less irratating? Im looking for
one that is. I tryed a few last year but I forgot which one worked
better. Anybody have any ideas? How mant of these sprays are available
now? Thank you

Unfortunately, different ones irritate different people!

Don, you misunderstood his post. He was not asking about sprays, but about
sudafed tablets. They have changed the formula from pseudoephedrine to
phenylephrine, due to controls on the former.
I don't think sudafed tablets are addictive, or have a rebound effect. They
do have side effects, however, including raising blood pressure and heart
rate. I think it depends on your condition, whether they are OK to take. But
they are not like the topical decongestants one sprays in the nose, which
have that rebound effect.
