hi there,
just wondering - ive had sinus problems for a while - just been through
a big "clear spell" and then all of a sudden a month or so ago.... the
pressure in forehead started again, together with brain fog, fatigue
and so forth.... new this time, though, is constant-yawning (which i
never noticed before)....
I've been doign some googling...... and noticed that excessive-yawning
is a symptom of, amongst other things, a brain tumor!!
.....given that im a hypochondriac, ive started to worry.....
.........................can anyone shed some light for me?

Malaise, dizziness and lightheadedness and spaciness can be signs of a
sinus infection, particularly if the inner ear is being affected.
See a physician and discuss whether a *long* course of strong
antibiotics might knock down the bacterial overgrowth to the point
you'll feel better.

The yawning is probably because you are not getting a good nights sleep
due to restricted airflow from your sinuses.
Go to the Doctor, try antibiotics for a couple of weeks to see if
symptoms improve. If they do then longer course for sinus infection
may be required.
If antibiotics to not improve symptoms at all over several weeks,
insist on a sinus, head and neck ct. At the very least it will show
any problems in the sinuses or fluid build up, plus any possible
abcesses that may be contributing to the problem. If there is
something bad lurking in there, the CT will show it.

Hello V.... a brain tumor? No, sadly it's not a brain tumor I too am a
hypocondriac, and have worried about stuff like brain tumors ect.
Your constant yawning is a sign of chronic HYPERVENTILATION! <----
Brain fog, fatigue, tension headaches all caused by
anxiety/hyperventilation
Constant yawning is acctually a symptom of hyperventilation... perhaps
you should google that and see if that is what ails ya.

hi there, thanks for the responses!! the GP put me on an anti-anxiety
medicine to see if that helps!!!
for the sinus problems? he's told me to "watch and see" for a couple of
weeks...
nice!

Can we assume the GP went ahead and did a basic blood sugar test,
oxygen saturation test, and maybe had a CO2 level check while you were
there?
All three are very basic and low cost checks, two of which the sugar
and O2 test most GP offices can do on the spot. The CO2 test would
probably require a better equipped larger office group or a
pulmonologist's office.
Sure, you may be experiencing some anxiety, but a marginally low Oxygen
saturation increases the stress hormones in the body and can many times
mimic or cause generalized anxiety symptoms. Hyperventilation syndrome
kind of puts this into a never ending circle though. Either one will
start the cycle, which continues to repeat as the anxiety causes more
problems, which disrupts sleep even more, which causes more anxiety and
more hyperventilating episodes, and so on.
In any case, the three simple tests could have been performed to get a
snapshot of what is going on.
