Been having problems since before Thanksgiving but I just tried to endure
and hope for the best.  Finally I had to see my ENT doc yesterday.  He did
that scope on me with the long tube with the light on the end so he could
look into my sinus.  Not a pleasant experience.  Now he has ordered a CT
scan.  I was sort of surprised since that was pretty much the last thing he
did last year before ordering surgery.  He did say that the insurance
companies were making changes and he would like to get a CT scan before that
happens.  Apparently some of them have decided not to pay for this now.
Mine hasn't said that yet but he said when one does, usually the others
follow suit.

I feel it's a waste of time for me at this point.  I need, and have
anitibiotics.  I am pretty sure I have a sinus infection.  He was telling me
he has seen tons of sick folks since Katrina (I live in the hurricane zone).
That could be why I have been sick.  There is a lot of mold and who knows
what else since Katrina.  I get the CT scan next Wed.  Wish me luck.

Thanks,

Vicki

I just had my 6th and last sinus surgery , this is too painful and
ineffective a process for me and the new ent says its only a temporary fix
anyway  ...  the only good news is there was no infection at all in the
sinus  ..I had prior to surgery ( 4 weeks) been irrigating with a solution i
mixed up....as follows : in two quarts clean water (ro) ..1/2 oz. 3%
hydrogen perxoid ,,,1/4 teaspoon graprfruit seed extract..1 oz white
vinager...1/4 tablespoon sea salt....I use 2 irrigator tips 1. the grossan
tip   2. the dsi irrigator from ethicare  (you have to have had prior
surgery to use this one)cause its long... the irrigation was the only
changes i made prior to surgery so i believe its the  reason i was
clear......   hope this helps you as much as it does me ...mahalo  michael

I assume you either have a huge amount of faith in this particular doctor or
else have seen several others as well and think he is the best?

I certainly would.

Sirgical approaches vary widely among different surgeons.
