Ive been having health problems since before thanksgiving...
I really thought I was getting Diabetes...
Ive had tests (BG and AC1) that came back negative...
Turns out its been an ulcer!
Ive had a low grade sinus infection that I cannot get rid of that
appears
when I wake up.
Theoretically laying down brings up infected stomach acid into my
esophagus and is close to my sinuses...
VOILA!

Did  you try to take something for your stomach acid which is refluxing
back ?

I take Prilosec  and Pepcid AC for my reflux  which I get sometimes. I
know I need Prilosec when laying down that I have a cough that will not
go away at night, as that is the only time I have it.

I have Gerds, acid reflux .

My Gerds started with an ulcer.  It sure was painful especially when  I
would lay on my back on the left side of my abdomen.
My doctor poked around on my abdomen and I nearly flew off the table.
She gave  me an antibiotic and to stay on liquids for 2 days, then
Nexium for 4 weeks.
I had a blood test too.

My ENT is starting to believe this can happen too.  He's seen too many
patients with reflux and/or ulcers who then got sinusitis.  But it's
very controversial; most gastroenterologists (who are the experts on
reflux and ulcers) don't agree with it.

I got an ulcer in 1990.  I developed acute sinusitis soon after, which
became chronic by 1993.

H.Pylori bacteria causes a great many gastric ulcers.  This bacteria is
a relatively slow growing bacteria.  An ulcer infection also is like
any other infection in that it lowers your bodys immune system response
to other attacks (i.e. sinus bacteria or viruses).  Like any bacteria
this bacteria may also be able to infect the tissues of the throat and
sinuses.

Not being a Doctor, but having one in the family, I am well aware from
personal experience how any immune system inflammatory response can
aggravate other less problematic areas.  For example, if my
immunosupressive therapy injection (allergy shot) increase is too
great, my joints swell up and hurt as they will be inflamed, along with
an increase in congestion and sinus drainage.  Same goes for the flu
shot, which illicits an immune system response and minor inflamatory
reaction.  This is why (as I was told) during the pollen allergy season
I am prone to have acne breakouts from a staph bacteria, one time was
very serious requiring surgery to remove the infected tissue.
