They're sure as heck aggravated by having the mucus in the back of the thraat
constantly, whether or not the latter is the full cause.
You probably can't separate it all out. It's all part of the one respiratory
system. Whatever is irriatating your nose and sinuses (allergic inflammation,
infection) is also irritating your lungs, both directly and indirectly.
You *have* to resolve or improve your sinusitis. When you do, your breathing
should improve too.
I doubt it is anxiety. People used to say alleriges were of emotional origin
and are still trying to blame too many problems on anxiety.
As to the constant mucus in the throat, what that may mean is that one or more
of your sinsues is probably filled with mucus which is constantly spilling
over. That needs to be resolved.
Irrigation may help as an interim measure while waiting to see the doctor.

When you say "for some time" how long do you mean? I hope it not more than a
month or so at most...

Hi Don,
Yeah I've not really thought it's anxiety either, I guess the problem
is alot of people including doctors don't seem as open to the
possibilities of sinuses causing some of my problems. And hence I doubt
myself a bit. The only thing that makes me even slightly believe it's
anxiety is that the meds I was prescribed do tend to make it seem
easier to breathe, though I never take them unless I'm at work and find
breathing difficult etc.
I guess it's possible for these to trick your body though?
I've no history of anxiety or of anything like that really, I was kind
of keen to stop taking Xanax as soon as I was prescribed it, though to
be fair to my doctor he didn't just throw it at me for the sake of it,
just suggested it.
My ENT appointment is in about 2 months.
I've ordered the Grossan irrigation kit so hopefully that will help a
little.
I suspect I have some kind of problem with swelling, I know if it's a
really cold day my nose seems to seal up even more, and very little
mucus seems to drain out of my nose, if any, from day to day.

Right sinusitis is all about inflammation......

Whether or not the pND is the cause of your chest being tight, you need to
get the tight chest treated NOW.

If you are having a tight chest, the answer is to get a bronchodialator. Ask
your doctor about using one ASAP.

I have tried to get it treated but nobody has really attempted
anything, would a lung x ray have shown them it was PND or not? My
chest is not tight every day, it comes on sometimes.
