I have a sinus infection.  Does a sinus infection involve the eyes? I
have one irritated
eye.  It is always the right eye that gets senstive to light and if I
just touch my eye it
waters and feels like an eyelash is in it but there is not. This seems
to happen when I
have an active sinus infection.  Anyone else get irritated eyes with a
sinus infection?

I would have problems with my lower orbitals when my sinuses would get
inflamed/infected.  The tube that connects the eye to the nose would
also get inflamed and I would have a bug-eyed look.  This was fixed
with steroid nasal sprays.

Yep, my eyes always are irritated and watering with a sinus infection.
I think it has something to do with infected tear ducts.

My  eyes get irritated and even weeks after too.
I wash my eyelashes with baby shampoo to get that gook out.

My eye doctor told me to do this.

I've had problems with this as well.  I actually got an eye infection
while I had a sinus infection.  My eye doctor said it's somewhat common
for a sinus infection to move to the eyes.  My eye got red and I started
getting gunk in my eyelids.  He prescribed antibiotic/steroid eye drops
(Tobradex, I believe) which cleared up my eye very quickly.

I find I have a lot more tearing whn the infection becomes active.
..Especially when driving in the bright light. ...Also, I have had
interior pain if I pushed on the one eyeball. ...This was cleared up by
the H²O².

But listen.  ...Your symptoms sound very much like Iritis. And you don't
want to screw around with this.  ...Try this experiment: Make your eyes
go cross-eyed. If it hurts to do this, go to an optomerist
"Immediately", and tell them to do a quick check for Iritis. (They'll
take you in without an appointment -- it's that critical)   ...I spent 6
weeks with my one eye having the vision as if I was looking through a
heavy fog. ...It was very scary, and it all started out with symptoms
exactly like yours.   ..Jon

Thanks, Jon for your concern. I have had tearing of the eye off and on
for 20 years.
My ENT and Eye doctor claim it is inflammed and/or  a little infection.
It is related
to the chronic sinusitis I have had for 20 years. The gland from the
eye to the nose
appears to be blocked. (?)   Jan

Do you happen to know if Sjogren's syndrome can affect just one eye? It
is only one eye that
is irritated. During pollen season and sinus infections.
