All, I am posting my experience with Sinusitis with the hope of finding
more information in dealing with this unpleasant condition. I've never
been clinically diagnosed, but I have all the expected symptoms.
Symptoms:
- post nasal drip - worse at night and the morning
- sore throat for several weeks on left side (only the past few weeks
now)
- swollen glands in the neck (only the past few weeks now)
- pressure across brige of nose/cheek area
- lightheaded feeling sometimes, like in a fog
- general feeling of discomfort
- pressure gets worse during allergy seasons
- head colds can get particularly bad
- slight turbinate swelling in my left nostril
- air flow diminished in my left nostril (opens up after I irrigate)
Recently I started irrigating with the hyrdro pulse and saline solution
2-3 times a day and I've noticed that when I do irrigate some yellow
mucous comes out. Is this normal or part of the infection?
I've had a sore throat (left side) now for several weeks and my neck
glands are swollen. This is the second time in a few years that I've
had a flare up that wasn't associated with a head cold. I've been on
antbiotics a few times in the past month for other reasons (Zithromax
for chest cold and Clindamycin for tooth extraction) and I generally
feel better when I'm on them. I'm back to feeling like crap again
because they were prescribed for a short duration.
Any suggestions?

Some persons with chronic sinusitis have the symptoms you describe. A CT
scan looking for a "pocket" of infection should help make a diagnosis.
