Dr. Grossan:

I'm seeing more and more posts suggesting a small amount of Hydrogen
Peroxide added to water as an irrigation method.

How do you feel about this?  Any harm?  Is it worth a shot?  Can we
drop a small amount of Hydrogen peroxide in the existing Breath-Ease
mix?

I'm coming across dozens of articles stating that infections can last
for year and years and years.  Even if there are no symptoms?  Is this
true?

Finally, with a very dry irritated nose, is it still OK to use
Peroxide?

Thank you

The answer to using Hydro Gen peroxide for nasal/ sinus irrigation is I Don't
know.
K don't think it is adviseable to experiment on yourself without some evidence
that it is safe.
We know that hyperbaric oxygen is toxic to nasal cilia. This isn't hyperbaric
oxygen but ....

How about a little Peroxide on a Q-tip gently applied inside the nose
(not very far up)?  Post-op instructions from my ENT said this was
effective to loosen scabs, crusts etc....?  Do you agree with this?

Do you recommend that your patients use Peroxide on a Q-tip post-op in
addition to their Neosporin ointments etc....

I would certainly follow your doctor's instructions. Peroxide on a tip to
loosen crusts is what we use on skin too.
