I'm having surgery on Tuesday to fix a dieveated septum and to clear
out the right side upper sinus cavity.  I'm wondering how swollen and
bruised I'll be looking and about how long it should last. And if
anyone has had this done before how quickly will I notice relief with
sinus pressure/ pain and the headaches. Plus to be honest the closer it
gets the more nervous I am getting I know its silly but I cant help it.

Oh one more thing, I hate pain pills that cause you to be completly out
of it or that fuzzy head feeling anyone know of something that doesnt
cause that? Thanks for your help

You should not look any different.  All surgery is internal now via an
endoscope.

I look different than I did before the surgery.
The septoplasty, combined with my ENT's widening out my nasal passages
to improve my breathing, has made my nose visibly wider and straighter
than it was before the surgery.

OK that good to note.

I think he may have been  concerned about some sort of temporary
disfigurement......

Someone who's in show biz has to be concerned about even the slightest
change to their appearance.

Based on my own experience, when I go to the movies and they show a
closeup of some actress, I always notice whether one of her nostrils is
wider than the other.

I had surgery last December and will be having a second next month.  My
doctor told me that it would take two weeks before I would be ready to go
back to work.  Because of the way the holidays worked out I was actuall off
two and one half weeks.  I felt bad the first week (but not unbearable).  He
had warned me that there would be little improvement in how I felt the first
week and he was right.  The second week every day I felt some better.  You
should talk to your doctor about the recovery.  My doctor had done about
1500 of these surgeries and pretty well knew the drill.  You want someone
that has done a lot of these.  He also told me that I would need to sleep in
a recliner during the recovery.

I really could not sleep for more than an hour or two during the first week,
it gradually improved over time.  In my case I was surprised how much the
surgery helped.  Good luck
