Hi Group,

I do IT work for and have a Chiropractor as a client. We do barter work
which works well for me since there is rarely a problem. I do system
back-ups twice a month and get adjusted when I go in. On my last visit
he showed me a Cold Laser Therapy Device that just came in. The company
that manufactures the laser is Erchonia
http://www.erchonia.com/pages/main.html. I was  looking through the
manual and there was a treatment schedule for sinusitus.

This is not an ad for them but I am curious if anyone else may have
tried this. This device has been cleared by the FDA.

I'm also writing because I've been following this group for some time.
There were times when I had really bad sinus problems that seemed like
they would never stop. I was lucky and went to my MD for an unrelated
matter and was shuffled off the the nurse practioner. She had me try a
few things and they worked; mainly stopping the infection then getting
clear with Mucinex, Rhinocort Aqua, and Clarinex. Currently I'm well
maintained with just the Rhinocort Aqua and Clarinex, but it's obvious
when I miss a day or two. I use a jala-neti for sinus rinsing, I have a
hydro-pluse too but it's stuck on the lowest setting, wearing out I guess.

There is a technique with the jala-neti that involves drawing water
through the nostril and into the back of the throat to be spit out and I
couldn't do this with the hydro-pluse alone. This tecnique will really
loosen some ugly stuff up that might have otherwise been missed.

Kind regards, pablo

It's inferior to traditional surgery.

Here's what Dr. Grossan saud recently about laser turbinate
reductions (and others agree).

My Posting regarding laser was confused. This is a cold laser that is
used externally. It's not the hot laser used for cutting or burning,
this laser works differently, Low Level Laser Therapy.

How does it work?

Many theories exist as to the mechanism of action for Low Level Laser
Therapy(3LT™) but simply put, photonic energy is absorbed by the photo
acceptor sites on the cell membrane which trigger a secondary messenger
to initiate a cascade of intracellular signals that initiate, inhibit or
accelerate biological processes such as wound healing, inflammation, or
pain management.

Thankyou for your response.

Oh ok I just assumed without looking carefully.  Sorry about that.

Interesting.

I see on the web site in the following paragraph:

"The areas of use described within this section do not necessarily reflect
Erchonia's approved "indications for use," case reference K012580."

In other words, I take it that it is not  approved for something like
sinusitis.

Still, maybe in time it will prove to have value for that......

As long as you are being the guinea pig for a treatment that no ENT doctor
in the world uses, please bring with you a pair of suitable protective
glasses for you eyes, as that probably won't be available otherwise.

I was looking for feedback regarding this therapy, not presenting myself
as a test subject.

There are alternatives that should be pursued in hope of progress.

Another method that I've used with success is "Acupressure for
SINUSITIS" with the technique listed here:

Kind regards, pablo
