Irrigating technique

I am irrigating with Itraconazole for a fungal sinusitis, but it seems as
soon as it goes in, it comes out.  What is the proper way to do this?
Thanks.

Also, my ENT says that even though bacteria grew out of my sinuses, they are
not really important; what's important is that I have fungi, and that the
secretions are like rubber cement, gluey globby, and not the yellow/gree
I've had in the past with bacteria.  Is this general thinking?

Thank you again.

exactly what technique / device are you using?

For the Itraconazole I use a 10 cc syringe with a long tube, used to give
meds to a kid or pet, I think.  I use 20 cc in each nostril.

For regular saline, I use the waterpik with your tip.

You may want to discuss with your doctor about using the Water Pik as a
delivery system for your medication.

He thought it needed to be kept in the concentration it is made up in, and
didn't want me to mix it.

Do you have any opinions on this?

Your doctor is better suited to prescribe for you. For some of my patients, I
prefer to deliver the medication via pulsatile irrigation, where I feel the
meds will definitely enter the sinus cavities.

(I have had bacterial infections for many years, am s/p mini FESS (worsened
things) and IV antibiotics ( helped for a while)  a few years ago.  I've
actually been doing fairly well, for me, this past year, until this recent
trouble.  This one is different, no pus, just thick gooey stuff, and feeling
more "sick" as a whole than my symptoms would seem to warrant.  My house has
undergone renovation, and been very dusty, but there is no obvious mold.)
