Jerome, no I didn't. It didn't feel bad "enough" to have the procedure again
as it was more intermittent. And my ears will pop on their own now, where they
wouldn't before. I live in NYC and take the subway 5 days a week so it's most
noticeable when the train is allowed to go at its top speed through an
underground tunnel.
Having said that, the procedure itself is not bad. It was uncomfortable when
they put the numbing agent on my eardrum. It wasn't the worst thing ever, but
I can see why children are put under for it. I had one done at a time and so
in between I felt weird because one side was very clear, which I wasn't used
to. So my "stereo" was kind of off until the second ear was done.
If it was getting to be where we were talking about it again, my doctor has
mentioned the permanent tubes but we agree it's not needed now.
Now that I think of it, a friend of mine also experiences a full feeling in her
ears when her allergies are acting up. She also has definite chemical
sensitivities so her recent home renovations have been causing some on/off
problems. She's been told she has dysfunctional tubes but has not yet pursued
agressive treatment, managing instead with the various allergy medications.
Hope that is helpful.
