They do not cut from outside - they insert a thin endoscope tube up a nostril
and do everything though that.....

It may mean that one of your sinuses has become completely blocked--with
swollen sinus linings or polyps or cysts or some combination. A blocked
sinus represents a breeding ground for infection. Until it's unblocked,
the chance of recurrent sinus infections is very high. You may need
surgery.
Today, ENTs usually do Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery. The ENT
goes up your nostrils with a periscope (called an endoscope) to get to
the blockage and remove it. He doesn't have to cut open your face to
get in there.

I most always agree with Steve. His answers are always very good. I did
not have surgery last year but may need to get the polyps taken out.
Mine are good for this year. I keep the humidty under 40% and replaced
the carpet and have 3 air cleaners. I do use alternative meds. But I
dont spam so I wont bring that up. Try no milk , dairy (moderate) No
wine at all. No OTC nasal spray. If you work around a lot of dust,,,
(wood sawdust ) fumes ect, try keeping that down. I use the irragation.
Now only 2-3 times a month. Used Can Do method helped me a least 3
times. But it can be irratating. There are so many things that can work.
You have to find what works for you. Low humidity keeps dust mites ,
mold, ect way down. This can help a lot. But are you willing to spend
the 30-40 dollars a month if you live in humid areas to keep it below
40%? All the time? I did for over a year, and yes it worked for me. I
used all the steroid sprays. They work a little. But you need to get to
the root of the problem. (food allergy) (Polen) ect ect. Took me 2
years to know. For me 35% humidity new carpet and bare floors. Replacing
blinds on windows , keeping dust down. Dustmite pillow covers, and
mattress covers. Ect. I know longer use any steroid sprays, Or OTC. No
ztrtec, clartion, ect. I was a mess. I still have polyps but my Dr says
they are small. He asked what I did . I just got rid of everything in
the basement. (damp Papers , boxes, And put a dehumidifier at 35-40% max
and 1 in the living area. Got rid of the dustmites and was tested for
mold at 186,000 it should be way under 100,000.. So now Im much happier.
I feel better. And when the time comes for polyp removal I will do it.
But Im not doing what the other Dr says with septum straightening and
turbinate reduction. I dont do waste of money and boat paying Dr bills.
They all want to do all 3 at once to get paid. Well after 4 DR. # agree
no problems except polyp. Septum is very slight curve. turbs are fine.
Sobe careful If Arkus or who ever has a polyp reducer great but he has
been pushing that wat to long. I say again. If tou dont know the correct
amount and items please dont post your info here. You are giving false
or wrong info. Thank you friend
