Hi Everyone

I'm just looking for some general info, OTC, ordered from Internet or
make your own.  Also, what brands are people currently using and have
had experience/success with.  I've searched the group and found some
good info, but most of it was kind of dated.  So I thought I'd post to
try and get some more current info.

Any info is much appreciated--Thanks!

I use Simply Saline nasal rinse, as the other brands made my nasal
membranes burn and bleed.

Thanks Shirley

I see it doesn't have any preservatives like benzalkonium chloride that
most OTC sprays seem to have these days.

Is anyone of the list using any of the Breathe-EaseXL products?  If so,
how do you like them?

Thanks

Breathe-EaseXL worked excellent for me. The higher cost over time of using
Breathe-EaseXL was the reason I eventually switched to mixing my own saline
after I figured out what type salt, soda and water worked ok for me.

Hey augustwestern--Just curious, what kind of salt, soda and water
ended up working best for you?

Thanks

What ended up working best for me was using no iodine sea salt that was
clearly marked as being pure with no anti-caking agents or any other
additives. Look for pure baking soda with no added ingredients and then I
use distilled water. I use 6 teaspoons salt and 2 tsp. baking soda per
gallon of water. This premixed gallon of saline lasts me for 3-4 days or
about 8 irrigations. Distilled water runs about .58 a gallon if you look
around. Your mileage and salt/soda % may vary from mine.  AW

That's because the other brands contain the preservative Benzalkonium which
causes the burning.
