First off, I'm glad I found this group. Now to my question, but first
a little background.
I just started to irrigate again a few days ago after not doing so for
a while. I didn't have any type of colored mucus, but have been having
a lot of pressure lately and thought irrigating again couldn't hurt. I
recently came off 3 10 day cycles of amoxicillin and that seemed to
clear up the infection, hence no colored mucus, but I've still been
feeling fatigued and achy.
When I woke up this AM, I felt more congested and had more pressure
than usual. When I irrigated most of what was coming out was nice and
clear, but there were a few clusters of green mixed in. So, finally to
my question: Is this normal or has anyone else experienced this--going
from normal irrigation without pressure, congestion and colored mucus
to more pressure, congestion and some green mucus after not irrigating
for a while.
Thanks

It sounds like your infection is not totally cleared up- I doubt that
irrigating has as much to do with it as does the fact that you recently
discontinued the antibiotic.

That's what I was thinking as well...just seemed very coincidental and
it had been a while since I last irrigated. I guess it's time to get
a referral back to my ENT. Like most people on this list I've been
battling chronic sinusitis for a few years now...even had a solid year
of no problems after ESS. I'm going to be more proactive in my
treatment this time and ask for a full immuno work-up. I'm also going
to ask my ENT about AFS because I'm so sick of not feeling quite
right and would love to find a root cause.
Thanks for your time
