Hi,
I was wondering if anyone here might know if Sinus infections can
cause a slightly higher than normal results for ALT and GGT liver
function tests?

i have blood tests every six weeks due to the meds i am taking for my
Sinusitis to monitor ALT< AST AND GGT levels. The meds can cause liver
disfunction.

Some of the medications prescribed for sinusitis can cause abnormal
liver function tests.
What medications are you taking?

None. Interesting thing is that slightly higher LFT results have shown
up twice coincidentally with a bout of Sinusitis, and then dropped
back
in to the normal range when the Sinus problem resolved.

I have had abnormal liver function tests several times. They seem to go
up and down. I haven't noticed if they are correlated with the
sinustis or not, but is an interesting thought. Incidently, mine were
elevated slightly prior to starting the IV antibiotics and antifungals,
but were decreased on my lab results last week after being on all of
the medication.

How were you diagnosed with AFS?
If it was a culture, then what strain of fungi do you have?
