Hello... I've never missed irrigating (3 X --or more--per day) for the
last 4 or 5 years. ...In fact, I flushed out a major infection around
the middle of last March (never did have to resort to antibiotics for
this guy.) ....However, since that time I've gone about a month now
without irrigating at all. ...And, yet, I've found my sinuses haven't
been too bad at all. ...Don't get me wrong, here, the irrigation
regimen has been a lifesaver for me; however, I'm wondering now (if like
what Dr. Grossan has said) that perhaps I was over doing it. ...Perhaps
the irrigation, in spite of how benefitial it may be, it can still
actually induce some of the ongoing sinus problems --As in washing away
the bodies natural defense system, as the Dr. pointed out. ...I know I
still have the sinus problem, yet even right now as I'm typing this, I
can feel them draining down the back of my throat. However, as soon as
my nose feels fairly clear, I'll give it a shot of Flonase (which I
still take on a regular basis.)
...I'm just wondering if everyone here uses the irrigation system
when required, or do you use it on a permanent basis? ...Jon

Been irrigating twice a day for about 5 years now...tried to skip the night
one for a couple of days and could feel 'something' coming on, so started
back. Same with the morning irrigation. No real infection in all that
time...of course the usual sore throat and chest congestion with allegies
from time to time...but even worse with no steady irrigation. Guess my
cillia are totally 'shot', so the irrigation is the only way to really clear
things out, even though the 'gunk' is just clear and not much of it...

The purpose of Hydro Pulse irrigation is to return the cilia to normal
function. Once they are normal, you don't need to be more normal.
NOTE: normal function does mean that occasionally you might feel stuffy or
clogged. You don't need to struggle to be 100% never ever congested.
