>>>>>>From my birth i was suffered from common cold ... and now i am 21
year old ... about 15 days ago i felt something came out from my nose
.left part of my nose.. i was able to touch it . it was like a
ballon at the top of my nose " It was a piece of flesh . i was able
to move it ,press it " ... Imidiately i move to Homeopathic doctor. he
told me its " nussle polyp"... after that i go to allopathic doctor
and he told me same thing its polyp . and when i asked him about
treatment he told me 90% surgery just 10% chances are with medicines
... i was afraid to heard about it ... finally i decided to go for
homeopathic treatment .. he assured me he will cure me with in 3 months
.. so i consumed homeopathic medicines .. it was ...
Glycerine ( kinda sweet water mixed with medicines) . he asked me to
put it in my nose .. and i am doing it . also he gave me some
medicines to drink .....
when i drink these medicines usually make my nose dry ... and after 8
days of treatment my polyp start shrinking .....i guess its now half
of its original size ... at start i was not able to inhale air from my
left nose . but now i am able to inhale air(with snoring voice ,
appears that something is there in my nose , but i am not able to see
it externally and its even hard to touch it . ) .. i met homeopathic
doctor . he told me that now my polyp is not externally visible
.medicines are working and polyp will be permanently cured with in 3-4
months of treatment . .. However i never go for any medical test like
CTSCAM xray etc . Also i never feel any pain there except
blockage<<<<<<<
Now on the basic of above case i have few questions ::::as follows ::::
1 Based on above sympthoms is it polyp ... i mean is it confirmed that
this is polyp and not any other dangerous disease.... is it possible
that i have polyp only in my left nose not on right .. or it may be on
both side and i am not able to view it ..
2nd .. Can homeopathic medicines permanently cure polyps ... or is it
possible that polyp disappear automatically or donot give me any
trouble in future ...
3rd. Does polyps disappear and come back ... as in treatment i felt
number of times that sometime it appears there was no polyp ( i can
breath easily ) while other time i was even able to touch it ,.. are
the medicines working for me as the polyp size appears to be reduced.
4th .. Finally , can i live with polyps if medicines did not cure it
... ????????? i donot believe in surgical treatment at all ( my
thoughts will never allow me to go for surgical treatment ) .... so i
want to know can i live my normal life with polyps if i failed to cure
them ,...
Thanks
Please reply as soon as possible
Also when i put that medicine in my left part of nose .. it makes my
nose very wet. and my nose releases lot of water .. what do you think
he is giving me ...
also once i had a drop (ya very little blood ) at my right nose
(however polyp is at left nose ) ... can it be because medicines dried
my nose or i just used clothe 10-20 times to clean my nose or touched
inside nose number of times .,...
Thanks

First, I am not a doctor. I have had problems with nasal polyps for years
(since before you were born) and these responses are simply based on what I
have experienced and learned over the years.
Yes. You can have polyps on one side and not on the other. However, it is
PROBABLE that you have many polyps, and you simply can't view them. Nasal
polyps are like pigeons. They usually come in flocks!

Polyps do not go away. They grow and shrink, but they do not go away. As
soon as you stop treating them to shrink them they will grow large again.
In my experience, it is a losing battle. The only sure-fire treatment is
surgery. Even after surgery you may grow new polyps. My current ENT says
that using Singulair daily may actually inhibit new polyp growth. I can't
confirm that yet.

They do not disappear and come back. They shrink, but they are still there!

You may be able to live with medications that shrink your polyps. I could
not. Eventually the quantity of polyps is too great and even when you are
treating them to shrink them they completely obstruct air flow. I think it
is a most unpleasant existence when you cannot breath through your nose. I
have had surgery twice. The first time was 20 years ago. The second was
last fall. (It is not something you do often) It was a simple surgery and
I was in and out of the hospital on the same day. I went back the doctors
office a week later to have some packing removed. It took 5 minutes. There
was no bruising, although some people look like they have a "black eye"
after surgery, but it heals quickly. Now I can breath more freely than I
have in many years and my sense of smell has returned.
I agree with your homeopathic doctor. Chances are 90% with surgery. Just
10% with other treatment.
By the way. Your "common cold" that you have had since birth is probably
sinusitis. It could be caused by allergies. Allergies and polyps are a
common combination. I hope you change your mind about surgery. India has
excellent doctors.

Nasal polyps generally respond to medical treatment. At my groups we only
occasionally do surgery for these.

As suggestion . i gone through endoscopy ... doctor confirmed that
multiple polyps at left ( upto nussle wall) ... and single polyp at
right ..... doctor recommended me immidiate surgery ..I was told it
will take less than hour for surgery and i will be out of hospital on
the same day ... so i have few questions ...... btw sometimes i can
easily take breath from my nose ...
!st ... does endoscopy is enough to detect polyps leangth or does it
need CTSCAN.
2nd .. yesterday after consuming medicines it releases blood . ( less
than a drop ) and it made my nose very dry .. so that drop of blood is
caused by these medicines ?
3rd. can nussle polyps effect throat . during endoscopy they put some
medicine in my nose which directly gone to throat (right side small
polyp side)..which directly gone to my throat itching me little .
4d. i was told that nussle polyps can effect brian and eyes if left
untrested .. so there is no medicines alternative if nussle polyps are
upto nussle wall .. and how much time i have .. how much months i can
wait for surgery ....
5th. i was told that there are two kinds of surgery one is micro
surgery other is ortho surgery(regular surgery ) ... which is the best
surgery out of above two ... and whats basic difference between them
.....
6. is there any kind of laser surgery available for nussle polyps
..........
Thanks

I will comment on just 5. and 6. and leave the rest to others.
(5.) It depends on what you mean. Surgery with an endoscope has pretty well
replaced previous open-cut mthods.
But some surgeons (very few) now do "small hole" surgery in which the drainage
openings of the sinuses are only minimally enlarged. Most enlarge them bigger
then that. That could be another possibel meaning of "micro" surgery.
(6) It's not advisable..
