Post Nasal Drip causes

I have been coughing since mid-August.  My ENT says it's post nasal drip and
has recommended a steriod nasal spray, albuterol as needed, as well as a
steriod inhaler. I have had mild asthma since childhood.

I am in week 2 of a cold.  Almost all of the regular symptoms are gone
away, except for the cough, and a little runny nose.  I have purchased a
nasal irrigation device and have started using that once a day.

At work I cough a lot and I am constantly on my feet.  It's kind of
embarassing and truth be told I'm a little tired of all the coughing.
Interestingly, I am a good sleeper and do not cough at night.  I don't
suffer from headaches or any kind of sinus pain. I have not been good at
taking all the stuff my ENT recommended, but since I've not felt any relief
for two months already, I figured I should get back on track with his
recommendations.

Do you have suggestions for me?

One other possibility is GERD.  Ask the ENT whtehr he checked for that
(reflux).  They can look down into the voice box for signs of it.

Once you have the nasal drainage contolled and still coughing, we treat these
patients like an ashtmatic. Possibly you need something other than albuterol or
need to use it regularly.
PLEASE don't take advice on this subject from this newsgroup, your doctor knows
best.
