Hi---
I have read about the Zicam nose spray and the loss of taste and smell
problem.
But, I haven't heard anything about taking zinc tablets, taken orally, and
if that helps the sense of taste and smell, and if there is a problem doing
that, like there is with Zicam.
I really appreciate your answers, as my (almost total) loss of taste and
smell is getting where it is driving me nuts, and I really want to pursue it
until I can at least smell and taste a bit better.
TIA---- :-)

Zinc lozenges and Zicam have been touted as helping to reduce the
duration of the common cold.
There is no evidence they have any other effect.
Having adequate zinc in your diet may help improve your sense of smell.
But you can get that from a multivitamin pill.

Look for foods that have zinc in.
I know pork does.

That's an easy one for me.
I love good German Kassler Ripchen. It's smoked pork steaks with some
sauerkraut and all other good German side dishes close by.
I'm salivating, and I'm a Scotsman!
Best--- :-)
