I was at the end of a slight sinus infection until yesterday when there was a
large fire in the hills near my house. I woke up today with a very bad
flare-up. Could there be a connection? I already used up my anitbiotics and
would like to avoid another Dr. visit.

Any comments, suggestions?

For me, smoke and sinusitis go hand in hand.  Smoke is very irritating to the
sinuses.  When I had a wood stove I
had severe sinusitis.  I understand that
people who live in Alaska have a very
high sinusitis rate due to all the wood
stoves and log fires. Perhaps nasal
irrigation would be helpful.

any rinsing of the nose can be beneficial after a fire.
