I had a Kenmore brand hepa filter for a long time, and it worked quite
well. It was a little noisy, but not much louder than a small fan. I
have not read good reviews of the ionic breeze in Consumer Reports. I
have an excellent allergist and when I asked him recently about getting
a new hepa filter, he responded that the best thing to do is put the
hypo-allergenic filters on the a.c./heat vents(I don't know if that is
the right term...we don't put them on the vents on the floor where the
air comes out, but they go on the large "vents" that we have in the
wall???) Sorry I can't be more specific! :-) Hope that helps! Good
luck!

I think you're referring to duct filters, like 3M Filtrete?

These devices do work as to clearing the air. The ad that shows the dust it
"filters out" are honest. Problem is that the ozone it generates is highly
irritating, esp to the allergic person.
