My chronic sinusitis has reached a new level of severity and tenacity,
and it's triggering pretty severe asthma, which I don't have otherwise.

It's been frustrating trying to convince my allergist that 2 weeks of
Augmentin XR is the charm, and a recent CT scan, right after
antibiotics, was read as negative.

I'm experiencing adverse reactions to Advair and Singulair, and am
hoping to find a doc who will treat the underlying trigger infection.

I didn't find any referrals on the link in this group's FAQ.

Thanks,

Susan

Should read "2 weeks of Augmentin XR is NOT the charm."

Have you tried Dr. Tichenor, who frequently responds on this site?  I'm
not sure how close he is to you, but he in in New York, I think.
Good look.

I haven't come across the name here in reading the archives; can you
give me a screen name for him?  Do you know his location in NY.

Thanks so very much,

He has posted here several times in the past.  I don't think he has
done so recently.  I copied the following information for you from
another post.  His website is excellent.

Thanks!  I have read a lot of his website, and I'm going to my
internist/inf. disease doc today to make a plan for right now.

Okay, I've found his website, but no office contact info.

Did you try the phone number above the email address?  If that isn't
it, I don't know how to call.  I guess you could call information.

DOHHHHH, I didn't see one.  I'll go look again.  I even looked him up on
switchboard.com and they said it was unlisted.

I have ADD, so I often miss what's right in front of my face.

Thanks,

Susan

It is extremely rare to get a reaction to Singular. Is this the diagnosis or
is it just that its not working??

I don't know, Murray (This is SuFein, BTW), but if I take it, I feel
head pressure and tense, and my diastolic goes over 100 each time.  If I
don't take it, it's back down.  I stopped both it and Advair, added back
one at at time.  I'm okay with the Advair, it's not even raising my
blood glucose or pressure that I can see.

The BP problem with the Singulair has been reproducible.

If you read the reviews on askapatient.com, you'll see that irritability
and mood disturbance are quite common with Singulair, dramatically so,
in some cases.
