I have been to my DDS for 2 months with a toothache that I cannot sleep
at night. She took xrays, check the teeth (molar) and cannot find the
cause for this pain.

I had another one last night and I woke up. Took 1000 mg tylenol and in
a few hours went back to sleep.
My sinus are okay, at least I donot feel any thing is going on there.

Any ideas or sites to help me?????

Have you seen an MD?  Heart problems can sometimes cause pain that is
hard to distinguish from tooth pain.

Hi Shirley... I had an upper molar that ached as if it was abscessed.
The Dentist could not detect anything on the x-ray, but cut the outside
gum, right up to the root tip where he put a filling in (just in case
there was a leak up there).   ...It didn't cure the problem. Turns out,
it was the pressure within my sinuses that was causing the pain. I
haven't had any more problem since I started irrigating.    ...Jon

Regardless of what initial x-rays show, be suspicious of sinus infection or
involvement.

AW with 2 missing incisors removed in the past due to phantom tooth pain now
thought to be sinusitis related.

TMJ can do this, esp if you grind your teeth in sleep. Some TMJ suggestions

Thanks everyone for your help.

Last night I had no pain . I took sinus tablets of Tylenols Nighttime
yesterday. Gargled with warm salt water last night. My sinus started to
drain by the afternoon.

I do not see my DDS until mid March and hope to have this cleared up.

Hi Shirley... I forgot to mention...   ...The pain transmitted from my
sinusitis to this particular molar was indistinguishable from the
multiple times that I've been plagued by tooth abscesses. The only
difference between the two, is that with an abscess, a noticeable
swelling will gradually develop (after a few days), at the lowest point
in the gum.

Further.... Because an abscessed tooth can make the whole side of your
mouth sore, a  Dentist will usually do the "tap" test to find the
infected culprit.  With my "referred pain" from the sinus, the tooth was
also sensitive to this particular test.    ...Jon
