The thick mucus was already building up and the weather changes are just giving
it a chance to discharge, I think.

Nope. Nose was clear.
When it happens it comes on like a ton of bricks.

Your nose is not your sinuses.

So?
Don't say nope too quickly.

After years of dealing with my chronic sinusitis for six
years I believe I have a very good idea of what happens. Not
saying I'm right all the time but most of the time.
>Your nose is not your sinuses.
How about if I stated it this way:
It feels like the passageways between my nose and my sinuses
close down to a very small hole / no hole. It is these
passage ways that have been operated on 2X to open them up.
>So?
So.... nothing has an effect on my like this other than a
major change in the weather. Nothing.

Jon,
My sinuses also drain suddenly with a sudden change in the werather /
humidity. They have for many years.
I just think that the likely explanation is that the sinuses are shedding some
of the stagnant mucus buil-up that is already there......
Try going swimming - I think that you will get the same effect.....
Or possibly vigorous exercise.....

So will a steam bath. Go into the shower, and run the shower until
you're breathing in the warm steam. That will really start your sinuses
draining.

Humidity never helps. It always makes it worse. This is why I moved to Arizona.

Not necessarily. I irrigate with the Grossan apparatus daily. There is
just more mucus, and thicker, and even sometimes discolored, on bad
weather days than on good weather days. My asthma is worse on bad
weather days too--I can hear myself wheezing a bit, a sure sign of mucus
clogging my lower respiratory tract.

Right but I thought he was saying he had an instaneous discharge of a large
amount of thick mucus on a sudden *change* in the weather. I did not think all
of that thick mucus could be produced instaneously....
