Hi, Trudy. I just found out yesterday evening. I went into the doctor's
office early Monday, like they said, to see the results and the lab had
forgotten to send them!!! I was so upset I started crying. I just wanted
to know one way or the other. They did fax a preliminary report over that
said it didn't look too bad so the doctor prescribed Medrol for me to take
this week along with some more pain meds and he said hopefully the Medrol
would take care of the inflammation and we would be ok.
Well, he got the actually films yesterday and they called me late and said
"The doctor said after looking at the scan, he is going to have to do
surgery after all" I was floored and was not expecting that at all. She
didn't know what surgery he plans to do, she said she would let me know but
asked me if I wanted first available. He only does surgeries on Thursdays
so I requested March 3. That will give me time to take care of some things
around here so that afterward I won't have to worry. I cried a lot
yesterday evening. I worry about surgery, although I have had 2, because my
father had minor foot surgery 1 1/2 years ago and ended up getting something
in the hospital, became septic and passed away. I have to get that thought
out of my mind. I know it's rare but I am just a bit scared.
Thanks for asking, Trudy. Please keep me in your thoughts.

Vicki,
I know exactly how you feel. I now take xanax for panic and when I am
going to have surgery I make sure they give me a good dose of vercid as
soon as I am in the waiting bed. Know that you are in my thoughts and I
will send relaxing vibes to ya.
