Hello, Fungus amungus is the worse disease we have, and lethal in aids patients: Diflucan clears up most fungus/yeast infections. The brand dose does pretty good, however the generic dose does little unless disolved to the sore area. In otherwords if you have thrush, suck on the generic capsule, however one opened capsule a day for 2 or 3 days may be enough, otherwise, who knows but what you may lose your teeth. Take the prescription, but at the end: use the last three or two to dissolve in your mouth/wherever. The brand medication cost me $89.00; the generic $12.00. Well, I don't think a drug company would be donating the generic version of its product. But as for taxes, assuming Diflucan costs $89 in the U.S. and the (undonated) retail price is $10 in Africa, you can be sure that Pfizer will be writing off the $89 U.S. retail price, not the $10 African retail price. To top it off, Pfizer will then recoup the amount they "donated" (in U.S. retail price terms) by raising the prices of HIV drugs (if not all drugs) for U.S. customers. So now Diflucan will cost $150 for U.S. customers, and still $10 for African customers, so future "donations" of that drug will cause the U.S. price to increase in a vicious cycle of "charity." Oh, and if it isn't obvious, Pfizer's tax write-off for its "donation" of Diflucan means a loss of revenue for the U.S. government, and since just about every HIV+ person in America has their treatment paid for by the government, that means the U.S. government is paying the newly- inflated price of Diflucan. In other words, the U.S. government has actually paid for Pfizer's "donation" of Diflucan to Africa, but Pfizer gets all the glory for its "generosity."
