I am a runner, 45 years old, 45 miles per week average. Got a sinus
infection with very swollen sinuses. Doc put me on a week of oral
antibiotics & used Nasonex for 3 weeks. Only ran 2X while using the
Nasonex without incident. Stopped using Nasonex on Sunday, and ran 10
miles. My nose started bleeding at 5 miles out and bled for a while,
and i was spitting some bloody mucos. Same thing happened on Monday
and Tuesday, but not as bad as Sunday - just some kinda watery mucosy
bloody stuff oozing out of my nose. I have no history of sinus
problems.
Think this is OK or should I go back to the doc?

I use flonase and nasonex before (not at the same time) for my hay fever in
springtime.
Nosebleed is common, it is not an issue, not really been a concern for me.
From what I know, it is the steriods in the meds that makes the membrane
thin and susceptible to breaks, so you get nose bleeds. I guess as long as
you are not hemophillac (sp), you are ok.
I had done mountain hikes (here in Vancouver, it is called teh Grind - 3k
distance, 1000ft vertical - time is like a 10k), I get nose bleeds. I have
had minor bleeds during runs, usually not long.
