I've been unable to smell since having my nose polyps removed last year.
And I've always known that Prednisone brings back my sence of smell.

But recently, I was prescribe (Biaxin) Clarithromycin 500mg and
something spelled with a number: S1ngulair 10mg for lung infection
and asthma. And my sense of smell returned! I don't know which drug cause
it to return. Could it have been a combination of both? Now that I
finished the Clarithromycin, and continuing the S1ngulair (Singulair),
I may soon know which drug caused the return.

Singulair is a true anti-inflammatory and is the more likely of the two..

Clarithromycin  is an antiobiotic but antibiotics can also have some
anti-inflammatory action.

Let us know what you find!

Did you use any of these products before you got your anosmia? Zicam? Xlear?

Hello,
I think it was the:
inactive ingredients: carbomer, castor oil, citric acid, hydroxypropyl
methylcellulose phthalate, maltodextrin, potassium sorbate, povidone,
silicon dioxide, sucrose, xanthan gum, titanium dioxide and fruit punch
flavor.
that cured you. I think i will try that: the inactives i mean . . .
because my
sense of smell dwindled away after my polyectomy (:
