I got severe sinusitus. I'm being treated by my allergy and ENT
doctors. Had my 7th sinus surgery last March and about to have another
one soon. So I know the drill and routine pretty well. But the last
few months I have been noticing a new symptom. During my episodes of
bad sinus infections I will sometimes get this flushed, red look on my
cheeks (maxilary sinus is where most of my trouble is). They feel
super hot to the touch at times. Sometimes it will go with a fever and
other times not. I'm not over excerting my body so I'm pretty sure it
has something to do with the infection. Has anyone else expereinced
this?

Hello,
Yes, i did this last Spring/Summer right before my pollypectomy on July
9. I too have had many surgeries, and for me too this was the first
time for the red cheek - it scared me into action, and why i got the
much dreaded surgery. Because of my age i had to go into the hospital
this time, so i was really really really dreading it this time. For
about 50 years all my surgerys were done in the chair in the Doc's
office, so you can see this was a new and scary one for me.
I get a nasal infection every time i walk across a parking lot on a
windy day, so wash my nose when i get home with my salt solution, which
doesnot help much, so now i am (due to Christmas shopping) painting the
nostrils with iodine. Maybe i should use my NasalCrom once huh?
Anyway i have to be careful all the time now to keep infections from
traveling up into my sinuses, as will you. I think next time i go
shopping, i will stuff little pieces of cotton right behind my nares;
maybe i will keep them soaked with Listerine or something. Or maybe i
will grease the inside of my nostrils with something - what do you
think would be a good idea? I cannot eat out, because every time i do i
get Trench Mouth (especially at C.O.A.),and it winds up in my sinues,
so you too should think about that. Everytime i am on antibiotics, i
say "Whoopee, now i can eat out this week for a few days before the
antibiotics run out".

I see in magazines that Boroleum? is advertised for adding moisture to
the nasal passages. It comes in a tube and is a suave like vasoline.
