About three weeks ago, I washed (and dryed) my hair and a few hours
later went outside for 3 minutes in the cold air to look at the XMas
decorations my family had put up. The next morning I woke up with a
sore throat and a 99.8 degree fever.  The fever subsided with aspirin,
but the sore throat did not go away.

Went to the doc who ruled out strep, and took a chest X-Ray and ruled
out pneumonia. I did not really have nasal congestion (I thought) but
the doc said my sore throat was due to post-nasal drip, and diagnosed
me with sinusitis.
I was given Biaxin XL which I finished, Alegra D (which I did not take
b/c It gave me a headache), and the sore throat went away immediately.

Monday, I accidentally forgot to cut the heat on overnight, and my
house was freezing cold, and I woke up with another sore throat, but no
fever.

I'm taking a Tri-Pac of Zithrom, and it's the second day and the
sore throat is still around..Help, what should I do now?

I have the same thing you have. I am still taking my meds of- Nasacort
nasal spray and Allegra. Also use warm saltwater rinses in the morning
and at night.

The Nasacort nasal spray is used in the morning and at night. Allegra at
night
only.(it makes you drousy) Flem is draining over night in my mouth,
throat area. My sore throat is gone too.

She also gave me Spectrocef antibiotic if the flem turned a dark yellow.
I have not used it yet as the flem is clear.

I had a sore throat and my neck on the left side (on the outside) looked
swollen and I could not touch it as it hurt.
The doctor said I had post nasal drip too.

..You can't catch a disease from cold air.  I'm kind of surprised your
Dr. was so quick to order a chest X-ray. Have you had pneumonia before?
..The sure-fire way I know if I'm getting a "cold" (as opposed to an
allergy problem), is it is always preceeded by a sore throat. ...And
remember, antibiotics are no use for viral diseases such as colds.

If you're getting recurrent flareups of sinusitis, you may need to be on
antibiotics for a longer period of time to completely clear the
infection so it doesn't keep flaring up.  My doc typically gives me 4
weeks' worth of antibiotic.

If even a long course of antibiotics fails to do the job, then you may
need to be referred to an ENT specialist.
