well, i've been using prednisone for about 2.5 months now. Initially
on a high dose for a burst and then down to 30mg a day for a couple
weeks and now staying at 20mg. seems to be the only thing that will
keep the inflammation in my sinuses down to a level where i can
breathe thru my nostrils. the steriodal sprays like Rhinocourt, etc.
just didn't have enough punch to them, unfortunately.
initially, the worst side effect - and it continues to some extent -
was restlesness/insomnia. which i sure hope is transient - it will end
if i stop taking prednisone. also, had a ravishing appetite. god, i
wanted to eat 24/7. i put on about 15 pounds, but the appetite
stimulation has ended and i'm eating normal now. but, as of the last
few days i'm seeing other side effects and praying to god that they
are reversable. first, i felt this 'lump' on my neck - right on my
spine between my shoulder blades. not really a lump that sticks up,
but just like there was some thick tissue or growth under the skin.
well, i just found a site that states one side effect could be 'Fat
pad at back of neck/across tops of shoulder blades' - so, i guess
that's what i've got. more disturbing though, is the evidence of what
i've seen referred to as 'moon face'. it's subtle, but my face does
look sort of goofy - puffy, more round than before. God, I hope this
goes away.
anyone experience 'moon face' or any other ill effects from using
prednisone?

Hello,
I told you all about steroids way back when, so if
you read me, you knew what you were getting into, so
now just learn to live with it. I personally feel you
are taking the easy way out, however you do need
relief while you search for the better way, so all
i can say now is keep trucking in the right direction
and good luck, loved one. - never give up . . . search,
search, search and more search for a healthy cure.

I recall you warning me about them, but - you got it spot on - i was
desperate for some relief and am searching for a fix give me a license
to survive again without the steroids.
I'd like to read that earlier post you made, but can't find it.
Do you remember the subject it was under?
