Hello every one!

I have been using Dr. Grossan's irrigation system for a couple of
months.  Recently I stop as I have developed ear pain on my right side.
May be I am using too strong setting so water get into my tube.
Amoxicillin 500 mg has not cured my infection, so I am using prednisone
to improve my condition. I know this medicine is not good for long term
use.  Do anyone know other treatments that can fix this problem once
for all?  Thanks.

Hello,
Please stop using that dangerous gadget. Go to the
drug store and purchase "OCEAN" if you want to do
the salt thingy, then use the little container to
fill it up with your own homemade salt solution of
2 teaspoons salt to 1 pint of water. Use good sea salt
purchased at the Health Food Store. The fluid in
your ears is there to stay until it finds its own
way out. Turning, twisting etc. the head may help
gravity to get it out. Something to shrink membranes
before the turning/twisting may help. Lying on that
side and clearing the throat may help it find its
way out. Standing on your head may help it - sorry.
Going to the beach and letting the sun beat on it
may help. In the mean time you are in for some
extreme suffering, honey, but you will live.

Any time that you squirt liquids into your sinuses, you are taking a risk of
getting that liquid into your Eustachian Tubes. The opening to the tubes are
near the back of the throat, about even with the nostrils. Does the
irrigation system that you bought come with any kind of warnings?

Dear Cando:

I just finish shopping for my Xmas gift.  What a relief.

Dr. Grossan has warned in his manual the risk of blocked Eustachian
tube if a user turns his head to one side during irrigation.
I don't use that position, but I think I use too strong water
pressure in the procedure. It should never reach over one inch height.

Any way Kaiser ENT will insert a tube to relieve ear pressure and
clear up my pain.  Bless him for doing that. After recovery,
I will start using Sinus rinse from Neilmed-a manual, but gentler
irrigation.
I will tell you the comparison between the two and hope everyone will
benefit.

Thank you for your concern.  Hope you have a wonderful holiday

Make sure you aren't turning your head to the side when irrigating as this
can cause water to get into your eustachian tubes or ears.

Ask your Dr whether you should quit irrigating for a few days until the ear
pain subsides.
