just had #3 dec 16.I had it done by Dr.stankiewicz at Loyola in
Chicago. From all I gathered he is in the top 2.The other one is
Dr.Kennedy.He claims 90% sucess in 5000 cases like mine so I guess this
is my best shot.Had alot of scarring at both sphenoids ,frontals and
also had a posterior antral window on right side.He put stints in both
frontals and will leave them in until he is ready.maybe a year.Surgery
went well.Small pacs out next day. What a breath of fresh air to finally
see a true expert at this stuff, not to mention a exceptionally nice guy
with a great personality.I have complete confidence that if he can't
help me I,m screwed.Absolution if you will.It took me 2 referrals and
almost a year of fighting my insurance to get here and so far no
regrets.  5 years ago I couldn't have imagined all this.
Merry christmas to all and to all good health----------Russ

Really glad to hear it.
If I may ask:  What symptoms were you suffering from that caused you to
have these surgeries?

On this NG we seem to get mostly sinus sufferers who have pain and pressure.

I'm in the minority.  I don't ever have pain and pressure.  But I used
to get so much thick yellow-green post nasal drainage that I was
coughing and spitting all the time.  That's why I had surgery.

> I had 2 years of chronic PND,thick and clear,and infection s would
last several months.I saw a "reputable"ent for this and all I got was
flonase,Levaquin and nexium.Somewhat of a miss because in the fall
2003,2 year after onset of symptoms ,he finally did a CT which revealed
extensive disease in all sinuses.I'll leave the symptoms to your
imagination.I was dissappointed to find out that the first surgery
helped some but still chronic infection.Scarring ? Recurrent polyps?
Incomplete surgery?only 4 months after the first surgery? I'm thinking
he didn't get the job done the first time.Since #2 in oct 03 it has
been fair at best.I've had some form of infection symptoms ever
since.Worse in AM after being up for a
while.Coughing, hacking, spitting, depends on how bad the flare up is.

> other than a little dull ethmoid pain before I had any surgery ,I
have been fortunate in that respect.I took ibuprophen for it which may
have been a mistake. Mabe just a twinge in the maxillary region if I
snort or sniff too hard.Never pressure just a little dull pain.

irrigated 3 or 4 times a day. Some of the guys like you and Don helped
me more than you know.I appreciate it.
