Problems after Mini Fess

4 years after a MiniFess I still get infections, and do most of the right
things regularly.

The ostium on the left is no longer visible at all nasoscopically.  On the
right it is visible, but is a source of pain, closing off easily, with my
right maxillary sinus getting infected easily.  In the winter, cold area
shoots into my nose too quickly for comfort, hitting what feels like a raw
nerve back there, and causing pain and nose leaking.

I have now felt ill for 14 days. I've had mostly thick clear mucus, but did
develop yellow-green pus. With one course of medrol and more irrigating with
Alkalol and breathease the discharge has improved, and with it the cough.
But the right side of my face still feels full and I feel sick.  I am tired,
and tire walking up stairs.  My chest feels tight, like I can't get enough
air, yet I'm not wheezing.  I was to have PFTs but the machine broke.

Nasocopy today showed mild inflammation and some thick secretions.  Nothing
like the pus of hte old days.

My physician recommended that I keep doing what I'm doing (irrigating, nasal
steroids, nasal fungicie (Itranidozole, I believe it's called) and take the
medrol to get more comfortable.

Can the surgery be fixed so that the right sinus drains properly?  Will I
always feel the air rush in and be prone to problems?  Does this course of
action, taking courses of medrol for comfort while trying to get control
with irrigation make sense?

Any comments from anyone?

Have you got second and third opinions from well-known sinus surgeons?

I would.
