How much mileage do people get out of using things like Zicam nasal
gel, and other zinc-containing products?   (inluding things like
losenges, but I'm really more interested in the nose spray/nose
gel/anything that goes INTO the sinuses)

I doubt they'd be very effective on acute sinusitis, but what about
chronic sinusitis?

Thanks

It has cost several people their sense of smell so I would forget it
personally.

There is absolutely no evidence that zinc preparations do anything for
sinusitis.

And topical zinc preparations for the nose have been implicated in
causing long-term or even permanent anosmia (loss of sense of smell).

I tried Zicam for a simple common cold and I lost my sense of smell for
6 months.
