A friend of mine pointed me to the following website. It gives
recommended antibiotic therapies for a variety of ENT conditions,
including sinusitis. It's written by a professor of otolaryngology.

I'm a bit surprised by his recommendations for sinusitis--such short
courses of antibiotics. Apparently his thinking is that uncomplicated
acute sinusitis clears spontaneously in many cases anyway.

Thanks for the link. I'll take a look at it.
Yes, with the current emphasis on avoiding antibiotics, concern with
antibiotic resistance, etc., many docs are not prescribing antibiotics for
acute sinusitis and ear infections, figuring they will clear on their own.
And, as we discussed, it doesn't seem that so many are familiar with chronic
sinusitis. I recently read a good article about the latter in Medscape, and
saved it to my hard drive. I'll post it in another thread.
