I feel like I'm at my wits end - I posted earlier on there under "A question
for those of you who might know the answer".
I have had a "sinus like" headache for 8 weeks now - symptoms include a very
warm forehead, and sinus pressure from all the areas associated with
sinusitis (eyes are really sore and burn, above eyebrows, ears, jaw,
cheekbones) - only problem is my allergist and ENT BOTH say it's NOT a sinus
infection. I had an MRI and CT scan done, as well as a physical - nothing
but slight inflammation above my eyes, but nothing that would cause this
(according to the specialists).
I've also been to my medical doctors, chiropractor, dentist, optometrist and
massage therapist - I still feel miserable.
I have irrigated my sinus cavity on and off since I had endoscopic sinus
surgery in March - my question is:
IS IT POSSIBLE THAT SOME OF THE WATER SOLUTION IS STILL IN MY SINUS CAVITY?
I know it sounds strange, and I wouldn't have ever thought of that, but the
past few days, when I have been my head over, my nose has dripped a few
drops - I've NEVER had that happen before, even when I was experiencing my
sinusitis.
Is this even a possibility, or am I grasping at straws?
I have an appointment with a neurologist next week - I don't know what else
to do.
I sure appreciate any insight!
Thank you.

Probably not - your sinuses produce liquid continuously and know well how to
drain it - but I would stop irrigating since you have concerns about it.
If you swam or anything like that water might get into your sinuses too, so the
sinuses can handle that.

To rule out the *unlikely* possibility of brain fluid leakage, get urinalysis
strips ($3) from the drug store and test the drops to see their sugar content
(brain fluid has sugar in it).
If there were leakage (which can happen after surgery) , that could be
repaired, so do not worry.

The "burning" is suggestive of a neurological cause allright - could be a
pinched nerve or some such.......
If those things do not work, GET SECOND OPINIONS from a major university
medical center. You can take along the *original* CT scan and MRI scan (not
the reports).

I too think it might be nerve related .. I had very similar symptoms, not
related to sinusitis. I had them in my wrists / forearms as a side effect of
my job at the time. I stopped work for a while and it subsided naturally - a
burning sensation, and cold too is often associated with nerve related
problems.
